He Scores Ice Hockey Game

Plouffe informs us that this table game was produced in Canada by Harley Productions. The game was donated to the Museum before 1993, but was probably produced a few years earlier than that.

The name of the game was a popular commentator phrase used on the television program "Hockey Night In Canada".

The rather plain box is 39cm x 26cm x 2.4cm. The bottom and interior are white.

An instruction sheet in the box states:

"[The Game] combines all the features and thrills of the real game and is played on a board representing the ice surface on which is shown players in Blue and Red Jerseys. The game is played with two dice and a puck, the puck being moved through the squares on the board in the direction and by the distance indicated by the turn-up of each throw of the dice as the game progresses."

The instruction sheet indicates that any number of people can play and it suggests that each player choose a side with a captain and take turns throwing the dice.

The game board (pictured above) is 50cm x 38cm and folds in half vertically. It is made of thick cardboard and covered with printed paper. Pictured is a hockey rink with the two teams in position on the rink. From the colour of the uniforms, it is assumed that the two teams are the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens.
