Acharena Carom Board

Carom Board

The photograph on the left is of a 29 1/8 inch traditionally square Carom board with four corner pockets.

It is made of wood stained brown. It has a raised wooden rim around the playing surface.

There are six concentric circular lines surrounding the center.

While this is primarily a Carom board because of its square shape and corner pockets, it can also be used for the game of Crokinole on the reverse side. Crokinole board on back

The photograph on the right shows the reverse side of this board. On this side, three black circular lines indicate the 23 1/2" playing area for the game of Crokinole. There are steel screw through dowels as Crokinole deflector pins on the innermost ring on the surface.

The distributor of this board was Carrom-Acharena Company, Peoria, Illinois. From documentation, it appears that boards of this type were manufactured about 1988.
