Anyone who has grasped a set of dice knows that each die contains 6 different symbols. What happens, however when you have two sets? Can these 2 sets be lined up so that no two of the same symbol appears in a line? A variation on using standard dice for a such a puzzle was developed many years ago and called Devil's Dice.
Purchased from World Wide Games, Delaware, Ohio in 1976, this puzzle is often found today made of plastic.
The Museum's copy of this puzzle is made of hard wood cubes, 2.5cm. Imprinted on each side of each cube is a colored circle.
The object of the puzzle is for a single player to arrange the four cubes in a row so that when the cubes are lined up - four different colors show on each side!
