How to play the game

This Bilboquet is both a a ring and pin game and a cup and ball game. The intent is to throw the ball into the air and put the pointed end of the pin in the hole of the ball as it falls, or to catch the ball in the cup on the other end of the pin.

About The Equipment

This Bilboquet was purchased by the Museum in 1975 from the World Wide Games Company in Delaware, Ohio. The game is machine made of hardwood. The handle is both a pin and a cup and is 15.5cm long tapered at one end into a pin, and at the other end into a 3.7cm diameter cup. A tethered solid round wooden ball is 3.5cm in diameter, with a large hole drilled into one end. The string tether is tied into the center of the pin and is attached to the other side of the ball through a small drilled hole.
