Munro Multigame Board

Multigame Board

The photograph on the left is of a square multigame board 24" wide.

It is made of wood, with a metal rim surrounding the outside, and plastic covers on the corners of the board.

A centered circular playing area on this side is a 20" diameter Crokinole board, with three round concentric circular lines surrounding a "bullseye" in the center. The innermost circular line has 8 raised plastic pins - each pin is evenly spaced from the other along this line. The blue and green circular area outside of the Crokinole board, as well as within the Crokinole board. are illustrations for one or more other games. No information about these other games was made available when the board was donated to the collection, but they appear to be a type of horse racing game.

The maker of this board is Munro, Ltd., Canada. It assumed that the board was made and distributed in the mid 20th century.

Multigame Board reverse side

The reverse of the board (pictured on the right) is made of a smooth compositional material.

The playing surface on this side features a standard 8x8 matrix for Chess or Checker.

The design around the outside of this game board and the reverse side are for other games. There were no instructions with the board for playing these games, nor were there pieces for any of the games.
