Eatons Crokinole Board

Crokinole Board

The photograph on the left is of a octagonial Crokinole board 27 3/8 inches across. The side rails are 1 3/4 inches high.

It is made of wood stained redish brown on the playing surface. It has a raised wooden rim around the playing surface that is stained a lighter brown. There are incised concentric circlular lines surrounding the "bullseye" in the center. There is a hole in the center of the "bullseye".

There are metal screws through dowels serving as deflector pins on the surface.

The distributor of this board was Eatons Canada, a major department store that was closed in 2001. The documentation with this board indicates that it was sold around 1905.

Back of board

Although this board is octagonal in shape on the outer surface, the playing surface is the traditional round board.

The photograph on the right shows the reverse side of this board. The Board is loosley connected to the back. The bottom of the board shows the attachment of the side rails. The back sits flatly on a table.
