Eatons Crokinole Board

Crokinole Board

The photograph on the left is of a octagonal Crokinole board 29 inches across. The side rails are 2 inches high.

It is made of wood stained reddish brown on the surface. It has a raised wooden rim around the 25 3/4 inch playing surface that is stained a lighter brown. There are no concentric black circular lines surrounding the "bullseye" in the center, as there are on some other boards. There is a hole in the center of the "bullseye".

There are no original deflector pins on the surface. Some of the ones now in place are replacements - not of the original type.

The distributor of this board was Eatons Canada, a major department store that was closed in 2001. The age of the board is unknown.

Back of board

Although this board is octagonal in shape on the outer surface, the playing surface is the traditional round board.

The photograph on the right shows the reverse side of this board. The Board is loosely connected to the back. The bottom of the board shows the attachment of the side rails. The back sits flatly on a table.
