Musta Pekka (Black Peter)

Musta Pekka

The deck partially pictured at the left was donated to the Museum in 1972. It was made in Finland. It is another Black Peter Game, but different from the other one appearing in this section.

The flap-top box (9.8cm long x 6.9cm wide x 2.5cm thick) is pictured on the upper right. Card backs are pictured below the box.

There are 52 cards in the deck. Each card is 9.4cm long x 6.3cm wide. Instructions (in the Finnish language) for 4 different games are included in the box.

One card has the name Musta Pekka printed at the top and Svarte Petter (Swedish language) at the bottom, with the picture of a Chimney Sweep in the center of the card (pictured just left of the box).

The other 51 cards each contain the flag of a particular country in the upper left corner, a drawing of a costumed person of that country, and printed information about each country and person pictured.
