Combinations

The photograph at the left partially illustrates a deck of cards manufactured by Creative Playthings, Inc. New York, copyright 1954. The game was donated to the Museum in 1978.The game is a variation of the game of Dominoes.

The box (upper right in the photograph) is 9.1cm long x 6.5cm wide x 1.7cm thick, and had some water damage on the lid when received by the Museum. Along with the name of the game and the manufacturer's logo on the box lid is the subtitle "Arithmatic Card Game". A set of instructions for the game are included in the box.

Dominoes

There are 53 cards in the deck. Each card is 8.5cm long x 5.7cm wide, and looks like a domino tile - although the card backgrounds are white, and the dots are black or red. Backs of the cards are plain (lower right in the photogaph).

The photograph on the right is of an original set of dominoes from China that the viewer can use for comparison puposes.
