Brueghel must have liked this game, since he painted it almost in the center of the painting.
This is a game for two players. An iron kettle (or old pot) is used as a target. One player controls the target and walks it around on the ground. A second player has a long stick and strikes at the target as it's being moved.
The player controling the target tries to prevent this, but must be carefull that he won't be hit by the stick. If he gets hit, he continues to walk the target. If the player with the stick strikes and misses, then he changes places with the other player.
